400 executed in Belarus since 1991

The data have been provided by Amnesty International.

Belarus does not publish official statistics data on the number of pronounced and executed death sentences, though being an OSCE member, Belarus is obliged to give this information, Euroradio reports.

According to the published data of the Corrections Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 102 death sentences were pronounced from 1998 to 2010. Nine persons were executed in 2006, one in 2007, three in 2008.

We remind Belarus is the only European country using capital punishment.
