Lukashenka to British businessmen: Do it fast

Lukashenka invited British and Irish businessmen to taken part in privatization processes and open new production facilities in the country.

“If you want to take part in this process, you are more than welcome. If you want to set up new companies in Belarus that will operate within the framework of the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, you get the green light,” Lukashenka noted at a meeting with representatives of business circles of the UK and Ireland, Interfax-Zapad news agency informs.

According to Lukashenka, business needs stability and predictability. “We have these conditions and can guarantee stability and predictability to an investor,” the president said.

He noted that the Belarusian party was interested in offers of British and Irish businessmen. The head of state noted that if foreign partners wanted to work in Belarus they should “do it fast”.

David Faktor, Managing Director of Stemcor Holdings Limited (the worlds’ largest independent steel trader and partner of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant) said businessmen attending the meeting were ready to develop business in Belarus and noted that Belarus was an honest and reliable partner.
