Avtoradio closed down again

The Supreme Economic Court of Belarus has sided with the Information Minisrty.

As Interfax- Zapad agency was informed by the director of the radio station Yury Bazan, “the new composition of the court upheld the warning of the Information Ministry that we had been disseminating extremist materials and called for mass riots.”

“Interestingly, the other judge has adopted the opposite decision. It is hard for me to say something on the merits. We do not have reasons for judgment still. We will wait for it, read and see what could be done,” he said.

Yury Bazan has added that the situation reminds him a ping-pong game.

“Tomorrow the decision in the action of overruling of a judgment to annul our right to broadcast license will be announced,” the interlocutor of the agency added.

We remind that the Information Ministry is carrying out reprisals for broadcasting pre-election advertisements of Andrei Sannikov, a presidential candidate, by the radio station.
