Zyanon Paznyak: KGB to busy itself with election

The leader of the Conservative Christian party Belarusian Popular Front Zyanon Paznyak believes that Lukashenka fears boycott of the election, so he visited the KGB for KGB men to ensure turnout at the election.

As said by him, this organization must not exist in the future, and its functionaries should become criminally liable.

“The fact that Lukashenka went to the KGB and the words said by him mean that he fears the boycott and he has assigned a task for KGB men to ensure compulsion of the population for taking part in the vote. We are to see and feel that soon.

As for the might of the KGB, it was strong in the 1930ies in the Soviet Union, when it held mass repressions, and it strong now under Lukashenka’s regime. But now it has been drawn out of the legal framework in fact, and turned into a half-criminal body which serves to the regime, the dictatorship. That is why the functions of the KGB and what they are doing now should be subjected to criminal evaluation. Such organization cannot exist in the future, it must be dismissed, and I have no doubts the Prosecutor’s office and court authorities are to occupy themselves with these functionaries, as the things the KGB is doing now are implementing the repressive policy of the authorities, it is mass violation of the laws.”
