European Ambassadors in no hurry to get back

A possibility that the EU ambassadors return to Minsk is just being discussed, consultations are being held.

It is too early to say that in the next few days Maira Mora is going to appear in her Minsk office, Euroradio was told by the EU Delegation to Belarus, as a comment to the reports that EU ambassadors had been given orders to return to Belarus before March 23.

“There is no information on that so far. We only know what has become known to the press: consultations are being held. The only thing we know is that all of them (EU ambassadors) would adhere to one and coordinated approach to the return of all EU ambassadors,” the delegation informs.

We remind that on February 28 the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Belarus offered the Head of EU Delegation to Belarus Ambassador Maira Mora and Polish Ambassador Leszek Szarepka “to leave for their countries for consultations.” All other EU Ambassadors left Belarus after them. Recently some reports emerged that the ambassadors are to return to Minsk before March 23. On this day the Council of the EU Foreign Ministers is to consider extending sanctions against the Belarusian regime.
