Kozik lies

The International Labour Organization (ILO) still have claims to Belarus.

The pro-governmental Trade Union Federation of Belarus issued a press release today saying ILO's committee on norms and standards refused to consider an issue of violation of the rights of trade unions in Belarus and supported the Trade Union Federation leader Leanid Kozik. The press release also says the ILO has no claims to Belarus.

It turns out the trade union leader lied again.

The Belarusian issue was removed from the agenda of the ILO conference due to failure to meet procedural regulations, head of the radioelectronics trade union Henadzy Fyadynich told charter97.org.

“The issue of the violation of the rights of trade unions in Belarus was to be considered together with similar topics relating to other countries. According to ILO's rules, a meeting of the ILO's committee on norms and standards should be attended by representatives of three groups – government, employers and trade unions. The item was removed from the agenda by a group of employers due to technicalities. The initiative to remove it from the agenda did not belong to the Belarusian delegation.

ILO's claims regarding violations of the rights of trade unions remain in force,” Henadzy Fyadynich said.
