Yarmoshyna not permitted to enter the EU attends the OSCE conference on her own initiative.

Thomas Rimer, the press-secretary of OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights confirmed that Lidzija Yarmoshyna had registered to participate in the event. However, the chairperson of Belarus’ Central Election Commission was not invited by the OSCE, Euroradio reports.

Mr. Rimer highlights that any NGO or civil society representative is free to participate in the conference.

As it was previously reported, the chairperson of the Central Election Commission Lidzija Yarmoshyna and Commission’s secretary Mikalaj Lazavik who are forbidden to enter the EU has received Shengen visas as the participants of the upcoming OSCE summit.

As Mikalaj Lazavik told journalist, they had been invited to partake in conference democratic Elections and their Monitoring which is to take place on July 12–13.

Later, Mr. Lazavik refused to attend the conference. However, the Central Election Commission made a condition: either CEC representatives attend the event this year or no one does.
