Hunting for bulletins “For Fair Elections”

Hrodna activists of the Fair World party, Pavel Staneuski and Viktar Mikhalchyk, were carrying bulletins “For Fair Elections” in a car.

A road police car caught them up in the Dzyarzhynsk district.

A road police officer said the car was noticed the the house that had been robbed and demanded to open the boot of the car. He saw bulletins and made a phone call to someone. He then said specialists should come and examine the printed materials. The experts arrived an hour later.

Mikhalchyk and Staneuski gave explanations to the specialists. Bulletins were counted in the presence of witnesses. The detained activists were guarded to Fanipal, where Mikhalchyk and Staneuski were told the chief of the Dzyarzhynsk police department ordered to take them to Dzyarzhynsk. Policemen threatened to tow the car to a vehicle pound, which was done on an order by the police department chief. A road police officer checked the vehicle identification number and said he saw the letter “O” instead of the letter “V”. Viktar Mikhalchyk and Pavel Staneuski are going to appeal against the absurd and illegal actions by Dzyarzhynsk police.
