Gomel officials were caught on machinations with housing

Four leading employees of the unitary municipal enterprise "DCC of the Gomel City Executive Committee" were arrested in Gomel.

They are suspected in abuse of power in realization of the housing of municipal property of the regional center, reported to BelTA in the Investigative Committee of Belarus on Gomel region.

The criminal investigation on the abuse of power was initiated by the KGB department on Gomel region. At the present time all the materials have been submitted to the investigating authorities.

According to preliminary information, officials of the department of capital construction of the Executive Committee entered into a number of contracts for the shared construction of housing, issued in communal ownership. At the same time, prices, specified in the contracts, were much lower than actual cost.

Now the officials are accused and detained. All circumstances of the wrongdoing, as well as the range of persons involved in it, are being clarified.
