Oil products export revenues decline by $3.2bn

Belarus's revenues from the oil products export for the January to August period in 2013 fell by $3.234 billion (29.7%) to $7.662 billion compared to the same period of 2012.

The data were provided by the National Statistics Committee. The significant decline in revenues is explained both by a decrease in the export volume and a drop in export prices.

For eight months of the current year, 10.115m tonnes of oil products were exported, which is 22% less than the export for the same period in 2012. The reduction of export volumes is explained by absence of the solvent “business”.

It's worth noting that Belarus practically stopped exporting solvents in August 2012. Nevertheless, the fall of the oil products export in August 2013 compared to August 2012 was almost 0.3bn dollars, which was caused by the world prices drop.

The export to non-CIS countries fell 28.9% to 6.849 million tonnes. The export drop in monetary term was 36.8% to $4.842 billion.

The export to the CIS countries reduced 4.6% to 3.266 million tonnes. The reduction in monetary terms was 12.9% to $2.820 billion.
