Dinamo Mn blanked 0-3 in Nizhny Novgorod

Dinamo Minsk lost their third game on road, this time to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod who whitewashed the Belarusian club 0-3 on 21 October.

The hosts opened the score on Sakari Salminen’s powerplay goal almost four minutes into the game. Torpedo players took complete control of the game midway through the first period and extended the advantage some 10 minutes later with both the teams playing in full strength. Vycheslav Kuliomin redirected Alexander Kulakov’s pass from behind the Minsk goal for 2-0 on the scoreboard.

Tight-checking hockey in the second period went scoreless and was marked only by a 2+10 penalty imposed on Torpedo’s Mikhail Grigoryev for an attack of Geoff Platt into the head and neck area. In the final period Dinamo’s Lukas Krajicek was called for high sticking, getting 5+20, and was sent away to the dressing room. Lukas Krajicek left his team 3-on-5 (with Derek Meech serving a minor penalty) and Torpedo players needed a little more than a minute to capitalize and make 0-3 the final score in the game. Torpedo goalie Vitaly Koval made a great contribution to the victory of his team, blocking everything that went his way.

With 18 points Dinamo Minsk goes 14th in the Western conference. Minskers won five matches, lost 10 in regulation, one in shootout and two in overtime.

The Belarusian club plays Dynamo Moscow on 23 October to wrap up its four-game road series.
