Oppositionist for half year cannot get back confiscated property

A member of the Fair World party from Zhlobin Ilona Tkachova still have not received back the laptop and a photo camera, confiscated at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

Actually all the possible terms have expired, but I was not given any response to the complaints that were addressed to the head of the customs office, - the activist tells to the human rights center Viasna. – But I do not even have time to do to the customs office and clarify all the circumstances of that matter.

We would remind that on 6 December 2012 Ilona together with her husband and son were coming back from a vacation in Egypt through the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

At Novaja Huta broder crossin point the activist’s family was searched by customs officers and a laptop and photo camera were confiscated. The activist submitted a complaint to the head of the customs office, but has got neither a response, nor the laptop and the camera up until today.
