Pavel Vinahradau gets 12 days in custody

Minsk's Tsentralny district court heard an administrative case against former political prisoner Pavel Vinahradau.

Only his wife was allowed to attend the trial.

The opposition activist was charged with violating article 23.34 (violation of the rules of holding a mass event).

Judge Viktoria Shabunia sentenced the Zmena leader to 12 days in a detention centre.

It should be reminded that Zmena activists held a performance in Minsk centre on April 21. A poster with a portrait of political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich and an appeal to release him appeared at the entrance to Niamiha metro station. A national white-red-white flag was hung out nearby.
