Lukashenka has demanded new arms from Russia

Belarusian dictator has started speaking again of the single army of Belarus and Russia.

Lukashenka highly assesses the cooperation with Russian in the spheres of defense and security and deems right the issue of the necessity of Russian arms shipments for Belarusian army.

“Our cooperation with the Russian Federation in the framework of the Union State may be an example. We have virtually created a single army today, and God forbid anything happens – we will be absolutely united here”, - Lukashenka claimed in Minsk on Wednesday when meeting the heads of the delegations participating in the session of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS, Interfax reports.

“We know what to do today, tomorrow, we are afraid of nothing”, - Lukashenka said. “Thus, - he continued, - we have been cooperating for many decades, and we have not lost any independence there”.

The ruler of Belarus mentioned the creation of the single air defense system as an example of efficient partnership in the military sphere. “This cooperation is a subject of deeper integration”, - Lukashenka stated. He also emphasized that “we do not keep any secrets from each other”.

“Even if we lack something and something does not go right, and you know that Russia too has problems, but we always demand that Russia pay attention to what is happening in Belarus”, - he noted.

“We ask and demand from them (Russia - Interfax) to ship new arms, exactly the ones as the Russia’s army has”, - Lukashenka said. “I say ‘demand’ since it gives us the right as an equal partner with our brother-Russians to act unanimously”, - the ruler explained. He highlighted that “we had single defense, single defense space”.

We would remind that in April 2013 it became known that Russia would deploy a military aviation base in Belarus. The Minister of Defense of Russia Sergei Shoigu claimed that in a meeting with Lukashenka. The first flight of fighter jets will arrive to our country already this year. It was also stated that Moscow planned to ship 4 more divisions of long range surface-to-air missile systems S-300 to Minsk.
