Victoria Azarenka beats Serena Williams to win Cincinnati Open

The Belarusian tennis player defeated the American in the final.

Victoria Azarenka wins a 2-6 6-2 7-6 (8-6) victory. The Belarusian had two wins against Serena Williams before.

This is Azarenka's first big success at Cincinnati. Her best result there before was the third round in 2009.

Victoria Azarenka met with Serbian Jelena Janković in semifinal and beat her 6-2 4-6 6-3.

Azarenka (2) defeated Danish Caroline Wozniacki (10) 6-3, 7-6 (7/5) in the quarter-final after a victory over Magdalena Rybarikova from Slovakia in the third round.

The winner gets a prize of $426,000.
