Davydzka proposed to execute spice dealers

Over the last year tens of young Belarusians due to narcotic drugs were at best in intensive care, at worst they were in mortuary.

The authorities are seeking for effective counter-drug efforts. Henadz Davydzka, the Chairman of the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus, was positive about this issue in his interview for “Belarus 1”. He proposed to inflict death penalty for drug dealers.

“I am a staunch defender of decisive measures up to infliction of death penalty for drug dealers. This is the only way to face it. Moral suasions, commutation of sentence are not effective. We should practice demonstrative punitive measures towards these scoundrels, making money at another’s grief”, he said.

The maximum possible term of imprisonment for drug lords is 15 years. The dealers usually get about 2 year imprisonment.

It should be mentioned that both citizens and Ministry of Internal Affairs’ officers advocate upgrading of penalties. However, the possibility of the death penalty has not been yet talked over.

It should be reminded that today’s death penalty advocate towards drug dealers only a few years ago advocated soft drugs legalization.
