Cheechoo's game-winner sends Dinamo past Vityaz

HC Dinamo Minsk beat HC Vityaz in a seesaw home game 5:4 (1:2, 2:0, 2:2) of the KHL regular championship on 29 December.

After Pavel Razvadovsky's ninth-minute opener for Dinamo Minsk the goals came in pairs, with each team firing home a couple in turn. In the second period Mathias Porseland scored on a 5v3 power play, and Vyacheslav Solodukhin made it 4:3 for the visiting team on a 5v4 advantage.

But Ilya Shinkevich tied it up at 4:4 before Jonathan Cheechoo came out of the penalty box to grab the game winner after Paul Szczechura stole the puck on the blue line and sent his teammate directly from the penalty box to net.

After 39 games Dinamo Minsk has 71 points and remains in the 5th position in the Western Conference. Dinamo Minsk's nine-game winning streak in the regular season continues from the game against Medvescak of Zagreb on 29 November.

Dinamo Minsk will start the new calendar year on the road. On 3 January the Minsk club takes on Jokerit from Helsinki and on 5 January plays Atlant Moscow Region.
