In Minsk parishioner not allowed in the church due to white-red-white scarf

On the morning of January 7 the police did not allow in Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk.

Valeryia Charnamortsava, the activist of the Organizing Committee on creating the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, who about 10 am also came to the Cathedral, informed BelaPAN about that.

Policemen explained that they were looking for a bomb. After the search of the Cathedral, first the priest and then other parishioners were allowed to go to church.

The policemen threatened to detain the activist. Charnamortsava took off the scarf and put it in a bag, but still did not manage to get to the Cathedral.

"Officers in plainclothes told a white-red-white flag was prohibited under the law "On Mass Events", Valeryia says. - I tried to explain that the metropolitan also had white-red-white symbols on his cloths, but I still could not pass.

According to the activist, she plans to contact the metropolitan Pavel to clarify the police what white-red-white symbols mean for churchmen, to law enforcement officers behave correctly in future.
