Local rail fares to go up 70%

Urban public transport fares will be increased by 10-11%.

It became known at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Transport and Communication in Orsha, Zviazda newspaper reports.

Deputy minister of economy Dzmitry Kruty said tickets for regional and interregional trains will go up in price by 70% – 30-35% in April and 30-35% in July.

Public transport fares in Minsk will rise 11-12% ( a ticket costs 4,500 rubles today). Fares in regions will be increased by 14-16%. The cost of suburban bus services will rise by 10-15%. All fares will be raised in April.
