MAZ worker: Due to Lukashenka’s visit five-day working week returned

The chairman of the branch of the Free Trade Union of metal workers Stsyapan Paulovich told about the moods of people expecting the leader’s visit.

In the end of April it became known about the possible visit of Lukashenka. As “Salidarnasts was told by the chairman of the branch of the Free Trade Union of metal workers Stsyapan Paulovich, everything is ready for the visit.

- Even two years ago we moved to a four-day week. What can we do here? We are just cleaning everything, tidying and lubricating, we have been doing so for two years. A person should turn up at work at 8, when there is nothing to do, he cleans, – he said.

As said by the trade union leader, the only change in the work of the plant is that it is to move to a full working week on the day of the visit.

- This week, when Lukashenka arrives, one more working day was added. Five days instead of four days. And when he is no more here, they are going to return four-days week again, – Paulovich said.

We remind that since the beginning of the year MAZ was working four days a week. From April 1 to 6 truck manufacturing at the enterprise was stopped. Earlier workers manufacturing buses were given unpaid leaves for two weeks. In the situation when workers of the plant are given two thirds of their wages. In the beginning of April the wages of MAZ workers was Br3-4 million (contracted personnel) to Br6 mln(on agreement basis).
