Belarus and EU to hold human rights talks in Brussels

The first round of dialogue on human rights between Belarus and the European Union is expected to be held in Brussels on July 28 in Brussels.

The statement was made by Dzmitry Mironchyk, a spokesman for the Belarusian MFA, at a briefing in Minsk on July 23, BelaPAN report.

According to him, the Belarusian delegation will be led by Yury Ambrazevich, head of the MFA main directorate of multilateral diplomacy, while the EU delegation will be headed by Silvio Gonzato, Director for Human Rights and Democracy the European External Action Service.

“The parties will discuss the current state and prospects for cooperation in the human rights sector,” Mironchyk said. “The agenda includes such issues as bilateral and multilateral cooperation on human rights.”
