Siamashka Ordered To Switch Ministry Of Energy’s Enterprises From Gas To Mazut

The deputy Prime Minister Uladzimir Siamashka has ordered to use Belarusian mazut instead of gas at te enterprises of the Ministry of Energy since February.

The issue of using mazut, manufactured by Belarusian oil refineries, by power sources of the country, has been considered during the working visit of the Vice Prime Minister to Naftan joint stock company in Navapolatsk on January 30, charter97.org was informed by the press-service of the government.

Belneftekhim concern has come forward with this initiative. At the moment the price of mazut as compared to the gas price makes it possible for enterprises of the Ministry of Energy to have a considerable economic effect using mazut as alternative fuel, as was noted at consultations of Naftan. Besides, the implementation of investment projects was reviewed at the consultations, as well as the dates of putting the facilities into operation. At the moment Naftan joint stock company is carrying out seven major investment projects: construction of a delayed coking complex consisting of 5 units, reconstruction of crude oil distillation units AT-8 and ABT-3 (a vacuum block) with a total amount of investments of about $1.1 billion, as well as a number of other outbuildings and ecological facilities.

Siamashka ordered to coordinate activities of contracting agencies. “A task has been set to finish construction and installation activities according to the updated schedule, to rectify deficiencies spotted during inspection of building operations,” – the press-service noted.
