Minsker Attacked Collector In Exchange Office

The attack took place in a currency exchange office located in a store in Gromova Street.

A Minsk citizen committed an assault related to robbery upon a collector, BelTA learned from the Investigative Committee.

The Investigative Committee of Minsk opened an investigation for the robbery of the collector. “Metropolitan investigators and operatives succeeded in establishing the identity and location of the assailant. It appeared to be a 35-year-old citizen of Minsk”, - the Investigative Committee said.

Main Internal Affairs Directorate explained that the crime was committed on December 22, 2015. It took the suspect four days to prepare for the crime. The attack took place in a currency exchange office located in a store in Gromova Street. The collector was coming out of the store together with a cashier. At that moment he was attacked by an unknown person, who sprayed tear gas in his face.

The man tried to seize a bag with the money from the collector’s hand, but he didn’t succeed. The offender fled from the scene.

“Hundreds of people have been questioned , the records from CCTV cameras have been studied for more than two months, the search routes have grown to over dozens of kilometers – these are not half of the activities, that have been carried out by inspectors and investigators to find the offender,” – the Minsk city executive committee informed.

Currently, investigators are working with the detained man, who does not deny his guilt.
