The well-known Belarusian official Andrei Tur died today. From 1995 to 2011 he was the Deputy Economy Minister of Belarus.

According to the unofficial information provided by BelaPAN, the death of the 62-year-old former officer was caused by a serious disease.

Andrei Tur was born in Leningrad in 1953. He graduated from the Belarusian State Institute of National Economy named after Kuibyshev V.V. Doctor of Economics, professor.

In 1974 he became a Junior Researcher of the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of BSSR. In 1975-1991 – PhD student, assistant at the Department of Political Economy, Associate Professor of the Department, Head of the Department, a doctoral student of the Belarusian State Institute of National Economy named after Kuibyshev V.V.

In 1991-199 – the Head of the Department of Economic Theory and History of Economic Thought of the Belarusian State Economic University.

In November 2011 he was appointed the Deputy Head of Lukashenka's administration, and in November 8, 2013 he was dismissed from this post.
