Stickers “Boycott” have emerged in the streets of Minsk. Police’s reaction to their pasting was nervous.

Thus, on June 20 in the microdistrict South-West in Minsk four young men were detained. They were taken to the police department No. 1, and then to the police department of Maskouski district and held there until 2 a.m. reports were drawn up against all of them for creating insanitary conditions. The young people were interrogated. Policemen were interested by the origin of stickers and the goal of the elections boycott. Parents of the underage activists were called in to the police next day.

On June 19 in the microdistrict Kurasoushchyna another young activist was detained for pasting “Boycott” stickers. Policemen and unknown people in mufti neared her in Karzhaneuski Street. They seized her bag and searched it. Then she was taken to the police department, and after a report was drawn up, she was taken to the police department of Kastrychnitski district.

As we have informed, on September 28 parliamentary elections are to take place in Belarus. Representatives of the civil society and young organisations are set to boycott the vote. Since 1996 all the elections and referendums in Belarus have been recognized not free and undemocratic by the world community.

Earlier the Central Election Commission officials, including Lidziya Yarmoshyna, many tines stated that boycott of the election does not contradict Belarusian legislation.
