CSTO Collective Rapid Response Forces to hold maneuvers in Russia October

The Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) carry out military exercises in Russia on October 25–28.

The exercise is to be held at Cherbakul range (The Chelyabinsk region), BelTA learnt from the staff office of the Volga-Ural Military District.

Representatives of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Tajikistan, as well as members of the CSTO Joint Staff signed an appropriate protocol on holding joint battle exercise of the CSTO Forces at a meeting in the Chelyabinsk region.

Joint training will precede the maneuvers. The theme of the exercise is “Anti-terrorist techniques”. It is planned to train terrorist attack prevention and actions in conditions of a local armed conflict.

About 2,000 soldiers, more than 30 helicopters and aircrafts, 300 unit of equipment are planned to be involved in the exercise. Internal troops and Emergency Ministry officers will also take part in the training.
