Thousands of ideologists prepare for “election”

The authorities of the Homel region set specific tasks to ideologists of the region (1372 people occupy such positions and over 2000 are in reserve).

According to Brahin-based newspaper “Mayak Polessya”, regional ideology chief Iryna Dauhala announced the priority areas of activity for ideologists this year: “ideological support of implementation of state programmes, giving ideological background for the election to the house of representatives, carrying out events on occupation of the Year of Books, securing stability of the socio-political situation in the region and in labour collectives at enterprises,” Viasna human rights centre reports.

It's rather curious what measures will be taken by ideologists to secure the stability of the socio-political situation. It's likely that the experience of previous years will be used – organizing Public Informations Day. For instance, first deputy head of the presidential administration Alyaksandr Radzkou visited the Mozyr district on February 10. He told ideologists “education and self-consciousness are key moments in politics. It's only due to solid approaches of the president of the Republic of Belarus Alyaksandr Lukashenka that we were able to pass through the last year with honour.”

The deputy head of the presidential administration recalled ideologists about social networks. “We are falling behind! The generation born in the post-Soviet times is another generation. We need to appear on social network sites. We need to be heard,” Alyaksandr Radzkou said.

He advised to be “more aggressive and promote our position more actively in social media”.
