Boycott supporters call for actions

Ordinary Belarusians not belonging to political parties call to boycott the “election”.

While politicians argue on their stance on the “parliamentary election”, citizens begin to act themselves.

A group Boycott appeared in Belarus. Group members already hold street actions and spread newspapers and leaflets explaining why taking part in the electoral farce scheduled for the autumn 2012 is pointless.

Group members call on boycott supporters for joint actions, a statement on the website boikot.info reads.

“We are ordinary citizens of the Republic of Belarus. We do not belong to political parties We do not trust politicians who cannot agree on the format of participation or non-participation in the forthcoming parliamentary election,” the statement says.

The group calls on boycott supporters to join. “Any idea is important for us,” the group members say.
