Ice Hockey World Championship will be insured against boycott

Lukashenka obliged officials to get the Ice Hockey World Championship insured against losses in case it gets cancelled, boycotted or rescheduled.

The additions to the decree number 28 as of 16 January 2012 “On some issues of holding the Ice Hockey World Championship 2014 in Minsk” have been signed by the ruler on 13 September.

In particular, the Office for holding the Ice Hockey World Championship 2014 was ordered to conclude an insurance agreement with a Belarusian insurance organization for the case the Office, International Ice Hockey Federation and (or) the Infront Sports & Media AG suffer losses (profit losses) due to the cancellation, boycotting or rescheduling of the championship due to force majeure circumstances.

Minsk city executive committee was ordered to take measures aimed at the exclusion of unjustified price growth in hotels and for the services of organizations and individual entrepreneurs, dealing with public catering, for the time of the championship.

The decree also frees the Infront Sports & Media AG company from paying the VAT. The company deals with attracting official partners and advertisement in the framework of the world championship.
