Lukashenka: Work for 20 years then ask for pension

The dictator offers to increase the term for granting of a retirement pension.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka does not exclude the possibility of further increasing the minimum record of service for a retirement pension.

He stated it at a meeting while discussion of measures for the integration of the unemployed into labor activities, BelTA informs.

In this regard, as the ruler noted, the country has already adopted a number of decisions. "First, the minimum record of service for a retirement pension has increased from 10 to 15 years. We have made this decision and it is the first step. Perhaps, it will be increased up to 20 years. Work for 20 years then ask for a pension. But it is still fixed at 15 years", Lukashenka said.

In addition, there is a 5-year increase to apply for the minimum social pension when no required record of service. "We'll see in the future, maybe there will be some additional steps taken. This will postpone a pension to those who did not contribute to the economy. Let the social pension is small, but it is billions of rubles, and may be trillions in annual terms", the Belarusian dictator said.

Lukashenka finds the decision on strengthening the influence of the record of service on the assignable pensions correct.

In general, Lukashenka demanded to solve problems of effective employment without putting it off and the draft decree addresses this issue.

He recalled that in October last year, he entrusted the Government, together with the Administration, to develop specific measures to integrate the unemployed into labor activities and cut off the distribution of State benefits to so-called "spongers". A number of decisions have been adopted in terms of increasing the minimum record of service for appointment of retirement pension, raising the age for a minimum social pension when no required record of service. The influence of the record of service on the assignable pensions correct is also strengthened.

"But if all of these measures may have a positive impact on the number of the labor force, it will only be in future. But we should solve problems of effective employment without putting it off", Lukashenka stated.

According to him, about 500 000 able-bodied citizens in Belarus are officially unemployed, do not pay taxes, but enjoy the social benefits provided by the State: free medicine and education, subsidized by tariffs for public utilities and transport, etc.

"Therefore, the State has the right to ask of them: gentlemen, what are you going to live for? These people must work, pay taxes and live at their own expense. There should be no social parasitism", he said. At the same time, he noted that the State would assist those who for objective reasons could not work, such as disabled people.

It should be recalled that in recent months the officials have been inventing more devious methods to milk dependants of money. It is proposed to imprison them, deprive of free health care and education services, and to impose $1000 tax per year. These innovations will affect all adult citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who do not pay into the treasury within six months.
