Vorsha Authorities Scared By Meeting Of Opposition Leaders With City Dwellers

4

In order to thwart the meeting, a complicated “chess” scheme had been orchestrated to turn Vorsha in “New Vasyuki.”

Vorsha authorities wanted to be on a safe side. First they gave premises for the meeting of the leaders of the United Civil Party and the organizing committee for creation of the Belarusian Christian Democratic party with dwellers of the city, and then they changed their mind. There was a reason found, which was ingenious as usual.

Two days before the meeting they suddenly decided to organise a chess tournament in the conference hall of the Vorsha hotel, where the meeting of Anatol Liabedzka with Vorsha dwellers had been planned. What a complicated chess manoeuver, all right.

The meeting of Anatol Liabedzka and Dzianis Sadouski still took place in the office of the United Civil Party at the set time.

“Where there’s two, there is room for three,” – the leader of the UCP said to ucpb.org website – It was an energetic and upbeat meeting. We informed Vorsha dwellers in detail about the plants of the UCP and the BCD. We told about our expectations of the Council of Democratic Organisations.

Our candidates in Vorsha are able to carry out a strong electoral campaign. Our communication with people in the city shows that people want to see an alternative to the powers that be.”

Representatives of the UCP and BCD laid flowers to the monument of Uladzimir Karatkevich, collected signatures for health care of a good quality and handed out informational materials to sole traders.
