Mikhail Zhamchuzhny: Whatever Happens To Me, I Will Handle It
MIKHAIL ZHAMCHUZHNY

The political prisoner fears for his life.

As it became known to the human rights center "Viasna", on December 6 political prisoner Mikhail Zhamchuzhny was sentenced to 10 days of punity confinement for "failure to comply with the lawful demand of the prison administration representative to go to the detachment." This is the 14th punishment in the form of punity confinement and the cell-type premises, which was imposed on Zhamchuzhny during his stay in the penal colony #9 in Horki, where he was transferred in July this year.

Mikhail Zhamchuzhny says that he feels a real threat to his life. He asked me to convey that "whatever happens to me, I will not hang myself, my health condition is good."

Mikhail Zhemchuzhny connects threats to life with the started appeal of the imposed penalties in the judicial order. However, he intends to continue to appeal, planning to send regular complaints against the three penalties imposed in August (9, 16 and 28 August), as well as a cassation appeal against the decision of the Horki district court dated December 8, in the near future.

Mikhail Zhamchuzhny does not rule out that the next punishment may be a transfer to the cell-type premises for a long period. He reports that if this happens, he will be able to answer the letters he received from the outside. Now, during the short break between the premises in the punity confinement, he is not given a pen or paper, and he cannot write anything to anyone. At the same time, Zhamchuzhny reports that during "shifts" he is allowed to read only registered letters.
