Only Protests to Make Authorities Accept Concessions, Homel Activist Says

The authorities will abolish an absurd decree, if protest actions continue.

“The authorities will abolish Decree No. 3, if well-performed and organized protests continue,” a representative of the Razam social movement told Radio Racyja.

- If people take the streets with well-performed and clear requirements and slogans, they will have to listen, because there is no other way out. This decree has two objectives which are not always pronounced. First, the replenishment of the budget – a fiscal objective, second, decline in value of the labour power. Amid the economic crisis both an individual entrepreneur and the state strive to minimize the value of the work power. Now there are many cases when people work part time in order to become a sponger.

Homel activist Yury Hlushakou believes that Decree No. 3 has hit the most vulnerable segments of the population.
