Rahachou High Official Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

The First Deputy Chairman of the Rahachou District Executive Committee was accused of corruption.

The Rahachou District Court pronounced a verdict against the former First Deputy Chairman of the Rahachou District Executive Committee, the press service of the Homel Regional Court informs BelTA.

The man is found guilty under Art. 426, part 3 of the Criminal Code (excess of power and authority). He is sentenced to three years in a colony with a reinforced regime without confiscation, the disability of positions related to organizational and administrative duties within three years.

The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed and protested within 10 days.

As earlier reported, as the First Deputy Chairman and Head of the Agriculture and Food Administration, the man instructed managers of district's enterprises to transfer materials for the construction of his home at lowered prices, as well as to provide services without payment in full.
