Uladzimir Kavalkin: Only Several People In Belarus Need Parades

Pompous events only disturb the residents of the capital.

Head of the project "Cost of the Government" Uladzimir Kavalkin told what the people need more today - bread or spectacles, Radio Racyja reports.

Lukashenka instructed to organize and hold a parade on a high level by July 3. "We should not grudge money on this," the Belarusian ruler added.

- The answer here is clear - no one needs such fun today. By the way, when the last parade was being prepared, at the same time a large civil campaign on collecting signatures was launched. About 3 thousand people joined it then, with a request at least to move such activities outside the city.

Firstly, all these festivals disturb the residents of the capital, when it’s impossible to go anywhere, dirt, damaged asphalt ... Secondly, any parade costs money. Direct and indirect expenses - to hold an event and then to repair the road. However, then the petitioners were responded approximately like this: "parades have become a tradition for modern Belarus", and therefore we cannot give it up. "

- But the authorities say that the money which will be spent on the parade is not very large ...

- The real master in a crisis should count every penny. Moreover, at the time when people need social support. But instead, the money goes to the parades, and then also to repair the asphalt after the parade. And even if you really want to hold such a chic event, then do it more modestly - do not drive on tanks along the city roads, but put in some place three combat vehicles so that people can see them. Either in the country, organize everything. And let the soldiers march on the asphalt, so that the people would see that we have such military forces. Therefore, it would be possible to make a holiday for Minsk citizens, and at the same time spend much less money. But for some reason this option does not suit the authorities. This parade should primarily satisfy several people.
