Until now, the political prisoner’s lawyer does not know his client’s exact place of detention.

On July 13, representatives of the administration of the Vaukavysk correctional colony No. 11, where the political prisoner was held earlier, in a word told the lawyer that on July 10, Mikhail Zhamchuzhny was transferred to the correctional colony No. 9, and there has been no new information since then, the HRC Viasna writes.

Via the phone, Horki colony representatives reported that the information could be submitted only following written requests, including the ones from the legal representative.

The lawyer applied with a written request to the administration of the correctional colony No. 9 in Horki, but the answer has not been received yet.

Human rights activists received a short message from Zhamchuzhny, in which he briefly wrote about the circumstances of his unexpected and rapid transfer to another place of serving his sentence.

"I was ordered to be transferred within an hour. Most likely to Horki. But not 100%".

We remind that in July 2015, Platform Innovation founder Mikhail Zhamchuzhny was sentenced by the Vitsebsk Regional Court to 6 years in prison in a strict regime colony. On October 23, the Supreme Court's judicial panel on criminal cases considered his cassation appeal and assigned him a more severe punishment – six and a half years of imprisonment.

He was found guilty of committing crimes under Art. 376 (Parts 1 and 2), Part 5 of Art. 16, Art. 375 (Part 1) and Art. 431 (Parts 1 and 2): incitement to the deliberate disclosure of information constituting official secret; repeated illegal acquisition and sale of special technical means intended for obtaining information secretly; giving bribes repeatedly.

Belarusian human rights activists recognized Mikhail Zhamchuzhny as a political prisoner.
