Villager Dies Under Wheels Of Corn Harvester In Rahachou District

The man died of injuries on the spot.

In Rahachou district, a man was killed under the wheels of a corn-harvester, BelTA was told by Vital Prystromau, an official from the Homel Regional Executive Committee.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of August 18 in a corn field near the agro-town of Zapollie, where the body of a local resident of 1982 b.y. was discovered approximately 300 meters away from residential buildings. The Rahachou district police arrived in the scene and established, that, approximately at 7 p.m., the mechanic of the "Zabalocce-2010" ran over a man while harvesting silo corn on a “Palesse” harvester. The victim received numerous injuries and died on the spot.

At present, the officers of the Investigatory Committee are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. Several expert examinations have been scheduled in order to find out also in which state the deceased was at the time of the accident. It is assumed that the mechanic could not physically notice a man who, for reasons unknown so far, was among the maize several meters high.
