Mikhail Hrabouski’s Neighbours: Lukashenka Gave This Land To Hockey-Player Illegally

The scandal ran high because of the plot of a common-use land, “captured” by the hockey-player.

Now the neighbours are suing Mikhail Hrabouski. One of those who suffered from the “star neigbourhood”, Aliaksandr Makarau, explained the details of the situation to the Belarusian Partisan.

— We (me and another 3 families) were unfortunate enough to become neighbours of the hockey “star” Mikhail Hrabouski, — the man says. — Having purchased a plot of land, he started capturing land, actively and arbitrarily. He paid no attention to conscience, or collective complaints, and snatched a considerable part of the driveway, which is the land of common use.

According to the neighbours, Hrabouski started to seal his plot and the captured part of the only road with a 7-meter high concrete wall. Thus, he seriously complicated the lives of ordinary people, which have always been difficult, enough as it is.

After a year of camping on the doorstep of numerous offices, and many appeals (to the rural executive committee, to the district executive committee, the regional executive committee, the public prosecutor’s office, the head of the district, the district and regional land management services), the neighbours finally achieved that the officials set up a competent commission.

In the end of it all, the rural executive committee took the decision, basing on the conclusions of the said commission, dated March 28, 2017:

1. To demolish the illegally constructed wall, thus providing access to the common-use land by August 1, 2017.

2. To subject Mr. Hrabouski M.Y. to administrative responsibility.

3. To send an enquiry to the environmental protection service.

The involvement of the environmental protection service was connected with the fact that, apart from the road, Hrabouski also captured the coastal zone of the Ptsich artificial lake.

The neighbours sighed with relief. It seemed that justice triumphed.

— However, August is gone, it’s September already, and the wall is still there. In the end, we sent a pre-trial appeal to the rural executive committee and the district executive committee, to find out the reason for that, — the neighbour tells.

The reply shocked the residents. It says that Lukashenka personally allowed to give the common-use land for the use of an individual (important to note, this refers to a driveway).

— Two conclusions can be made from this reply: either the Administration was misleaded (and I hope it is the case), having provided false information; or Belarusians have already been divided into castes. And more privileged minorities are granted indulgences and for them following the law is not necessary. The trial is coming, we’ll find out which state we live in there, — the man notes.
