Kabiakou Found Cushy Job In Belgazprombank

The technical procedure of the ex-premier’s approval will be completed soon.

Former Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kabiakou will join the Belgazprombank board of directors as an independent director, a source in banking circles told Interfax-Zapad.

“The technical procedure of Andrei Kabiakou’s approval as an independent director of the Belgazprombank board of directors will be completed in the near future,” – the source says.

As reported, A. Kabiakou together with the majority of the government was dismissed by Lukashenka’s decision on August 18 of this year.

In early October, A. Kabiakou passed an assessment of compliance with the qualification requirements and requirements for business reputation of the special commission of the National Bank.

Previously, the position of an independent director of the Belgazprombank board of directors was held by the current prime minister, Siarhei Rumas, up to his appointment as head of government.

Belgazprombank was established in 1990, its shareholders are the PJSC Gazprom (49.66%), Gazprombank (49.66%), the OJSC Gazprom Transgaz Belarus (0.49%) and the Ministry of Energy of Belarus (0.18%) .

The bank’s board of directors is headed by Andrey Kruglov, deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom.
