Victory: REP Trade Union Helps Saleswoman To Get Money And Clear Work Record Book

A trade worker from Mahiliou addressed an independent trade union.

Praca-by.info reports, that the REP trade union in Mahiliou helped an illegally dismissed seller to get 650 rubles from the employer and change the article of dismissal in her work record book.

"I think that I was fired because of my appeal to the sanitary and epidemiological station, which carried out an inspection and penalized the management of LLC Trivet," – the former seller Natallia Salauyova wrote in her statement of claim.

Natallia Salauyova found a job in one of the grocery stores in Mahiliou, and almost from the very first day the employer began to violate her labor rights: at first he did not registered her as employed at his store; then he officially employed her, but omitted a few working days; etc. A conflict arose between Natallia and the employer. She was transferred to another store, which sanitary conditions did not suit the woman (for example, there were cockroaches), and she complained to the Sanitary Station. After that, the employer decided to get rid of the trouble-making seller and fired Natallia.

Natallia Salauyova addressed the REP trade union for the protection of her rights.

In the court, the employer, having listened to the arguments of the plaintiff, decided not to make the case last long. During the trial, the sides reached an amicable settlement. Now the employer will pay Natallia 650 rubles and will change the record in her work record book – the woman will be dismissed "by agreement of the parties."

The representative of the REP trade union in Mahiliou region, the legal inspector Aliaksei Yauhenau represented interests of Natallia Salauyova. He said that trade workers are increasingly addressing the independent trade union:

– It seems that this industry continues to degrade. It's hard to say it in other words! Modern trade in Belarus – it is low wages, shortages, excessive loading of sellers, low level of legal relations and all the consequences of this situation.

Aliaksei Yauhenau believes that not only employers' fault that the situation in commerce is so deplorable:

– The sellers themselves behave carelessly not negotiating the working conditions in advance, not signing labor contracts. After winning cases with the help of the trade union REP, they pay contributions irregularly and reluctantly, as if they think that the next time they will be more lucky. However, the situation, as a rule, does not develop for the better. There are no less violations in the trade.
