Meeting Of Solidarity With Belarus Held Near UN Building In New York

The event was timed to coincide with the 32nd anniversary of the Chernobyl accident.

On Thursday, April 26, 2018, a rally dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster was held in front of the UN headquarters in Manhattan, New York. Belarusian from Philadelphia Vadzim Vasiljeu has written on Facebook about it.

The rally was organized to express solidarity and support for the Belarusians affected by the Chernobyl disaster, who still have to deal with its consequences.

The participants also protested against the indifference and hypocrisy shown by the authorities in Belarus, who hush up about the actual situation in the contaminated areas.

We remind that the Charnobylski Sliakh – 2018 procession and rally were held in Minsk yesterday. The participants adopted resolutions calling to stop immediately f the construction of the Astravets nuclear power plant and announced the launch of the Astravetski Shliakh campaign.
