A picket of solidarity with Hennadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik was held in Lida.

Organizers of the picket, members of the REP trade union and the leaders of the Lida branch of the Belarusian Popular Front party, Uladzimir Krutsikau and Siarhei Sidarenka, told Radio Racyja about the picket of solidarity.

– It is clear that this whole case is political. They didn’t violate anything. In due time, they made a lot of people go out and it frightened the power. The monopoly of power on the social movement is lost. We have the BRYU, some pensioners, some kind of union of women and something else that Lukashenka keeps the check on.

Lukashenka saw that there were people who behaved independently and therefore decided to hollow out the main leaders.

Members of the REP trade union from Lida and local oppositionists have prepared a joint statement of solidarity with trade union leaders, where repressions and their criminal prosecution are called "acts of lawlessness, intimidation and violence."

We remind that Hennadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik are facing restriction of freedom for up to 5 years or imprisonment for a period of 3 to 7 years with possible confiscation of property.
