Larysa Shchyrakova: No Point Attending Trials, Result Is Known In Advance

The freelance journalist has been fined for $490 in Rechytsa.

Judge of the Rechytsa district court Sviatlana Pyrkh found freelance journalist Larysa Shchyrakova guilty of “illegal making of the media product” for Belsat TV-channel without accreditation, and fined her for 40 base fees, which is Bn 980 ($490) in the equivalent, baj.by reports.

The trial passed without the journalist’s participation. “There’s no point attending trials as the result is known in advance. It’s only a waste of time,” - Larysa Shschyrakova said.

She informed that the fine was made for the piece of news called “Today it’s an animal dying in the tar pit, will it be a human being tomorrow?”
