Volha Nikalaichyk, Dzianis Urbanovich Released

The Kurapaty defenders have been released after a 10-day administrative detention.

This has been reported by the press-center of the Belarusian National Congress.

“Dzianis Urbanovich is free. The activist’s friends met him outside the remand prison of the Minsk region, where he served a 10-day administrative arrest for defending Kurapaty.

Volha Nikalaichyk has been taken away from the prison in the Pershamaiski district police department and released. She also served 10 days of arrest.

Important to note, on June 30 Dzianis Urbanovich was detained in Minsk together with civil activist and movie director Volha Nikalaichyk. They were sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention for the participation in picketing the restaurant “Let’s Go and Have a Meal” in Kurapaty.

Dzianis Urbanovich has participated in the picketing of the restaurant near Kurapaty since early June. The police drew up several protocols against him.
