"Basta": Brest Residents Will Take To Streets And Kick Up Fuss

The authorities’ fears are not groundless.

The Brest regional council head, Yury Narkevich, realizes where the attempts to introduce new extortions will lead to. And he is nervous beforehand, demands to find the unemployed jobs urgently. "People will start receiving these letters, and they will take to the square again. They will kick up a fuss again," – the official said at a meeting of the regional executive committee's presidium.

Narkevich, apparently, knows the real situation with the unemployment and wages in the region and does not really believe in the myths of official statistics, the Basta telegram channel writes.

If not – we advise him to go to the site of the Employment Center. There are enough jobs there, indeed, – there are over 1200 in Brest only. But they are unlikely to get someone interested. More than half of employers offer salaries from 150 to 250 dollars. 20% of vacancies offer a salary below $ 150. And how do you like the idea to work as a teacher or doctor for 100 rubles a month? Would you agree? That's what the unemployed Brest residents think: a huge part of the vacancies have been there since last year.

As for the situation in the district centers, it is much worse than in Brest. There they count it one's good fortune to find a job for $ 100 a month.

Therefore, most likely, the Brest residents will come out. And will kick up a fuss. Let it be in February. In the meantime, look how they did it last year.
