Why Did Sheiman Stay?

It's about the way the head of the dictator's Administration saved his position after the scandal in Orsha.

One month later Victar Sheiman reported on inspections at enterprises in the Orsha district. They allegedly team up and identify prospects.

Two months later, in August, the ruler made it clear again what a significant role the Orsha district played for him.

"What's going on there? In the near future, all members of the government involved will give a report."

As Lukashenka promised, a year later Sheiman gave a report during the Orsha meeting. There was a positive report, but the ruler criticized almost every point.

"Lists of unused or ineffectively used property are produced" / It took a week! Was it worth doing that?" Lukashenka resented.

What is the result? The government and two ministers resigned, governor of the Vitsebsk region got a severe reprimand, and the person "exercising tight control" keeps working.

10 years ago Sheiman was fired

In this regard, let's recall the story of 10 years ago. After the explosion on celebration of Independence Day in 2008 Lukashenka said: "I don't think it's wise for you to stay in this position after the incident" and he fired Sheiman who used to be the State Secretary of the Security Council.

Sheiman helped Lukashenka to become the president in 1994 and later was rewarded with high positions. In 1996 the current ruler awarded him Brigadier General, and later appointed Sheiman as Prosecutor General and the head of Lukashenka's Administration. Despite the story of their relations, Lukashenka dared to fire his companion. Lukashenka has recently told that the role of the head of Lukashenka's Administration in the economy should be enhanced.

Why did Sheiman stay?

Reasons may differ. In May Lukashenka called his life "a decent example of honest service to the Homeland." Perhaps, he did not want to resign his old companion in disgrace and decided to give him a chance to work until the retirement, according to new rules only a year for Sheiman left.

Or Lukashenka sincerely believed that other people were to blame for failures. Lukashenka has recently told that the role of the head of Lukashenka's Administration in the economy should be enhanced.

Anyway, Victar Sheiman has set a new record: He still occupies a high position under Lukashenka.
