Photo Tour: Seven Days On Raft Along Prypiats Under White-Red-White Flag

A never-to-be-forgotten week among the waves, sandy beaches, storks and herons.

In early August, I was lucky enough to go in the company of friends in a week-long trip along the Prypiats. We ran on a raft from Luninets to the ponton crossing near Turau, Siamion Pechanko writes for Salidarnasts.

The weather pleased us with the absence of rain. Solar burns were the recompense for it. A lesson for everyone who decides to sail along the river for a few days in the heat: you must get suntan products, close the body and head from the sun.

The Prypiats is a paradise for birds. Storks, herons, cranes and ducks, eagles and more.

The lost fishing gear can be a serious problem for the birds. This seagull approached our group several times, as if seeking salvation. But it never allowed us to catch it.
