Man Tried To Steal Bicycle At Staircase In Minsk, But Fell Asleep

The Minsker spent at large only two days and was caught when stealing a bicycle.

This was reported by Minsk-Novosti.

The victim himself detained the attacker: he and his son were returning home, and at the entrance they ran straight into a man, carrying their bike, which had been standing on the landing of the 5th floor. The owner asked where the stranger was taking someone else's transport, and received the answer: "To make a diagnostic assessment."

The citizen switched out his two-wheeler of the criminal’s hands. The stranger lost his balance, fell to the ground and did not even try to get up.

The victim called the police and an ambulance. The arrived physicians found that the man was fast asleep. After waking up, he said that that day, he had taken about 15 tramadol pills.

A criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanctions of which provide for up to 4 years of imprisonment, was instituted against the detainee.
