Hundreds Of Brest Residents Joined Protest Against Battery Factory

About 200 people came to the traditional Sunday meeting at the central square of Brest.

This time Father Frost and Snow Maiden joined the participants again. Local activist Vital Kozak appeared as Father Frost. It should be noted that the attempt to come to the square ended for him with a detention before the new year, Belsat reports.

The meeting participants discussed the latest news, in particular, the fact that the plant’s project was withdrawn to a new environmental impact assessment, but it would be shown to the activists if it gets a positive resolution. The activists believe that the law is violated once again, as the developer is obliged to provide citizens and legal entities with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the documentation, which is sent to the state environmental expertise. The main achievement of Brest residents is that the battery plant has not been brought into operation.

PAHONIA ON FATHER FROST’S STAFF

We remind that from February 25, 2018, Brest residents have been coming to the main square of the city, where they feed pigeons and discuss the latest news related to the possible launch of the battery factory near Brest.

The start of the enterprise’s production was planned first in August, then at the end of the year. But until now, the plant has not been opened. The appeal against the construction has been signed by 40 thousand Brest residents. A full cycle of lead-acid battery production will be established at the plant.
