Lukashenka to Russian Governor: Consider This Land Yours

The dictator called Belarus "home" for the Russians.

This was stated by Lukashenka at a meeting with the governor of Novosibirsk oblast Andrei Travnikov on January 24, the press service of the dictator reports.

"We are open not only to dialogue, but also to cooperation. And we are ready to reach certain agreements if the Siberians need it. Belarus is still your home as it used to be. We are determined to cooperate with our older brothers. But only on a humanwise basis. And you'll always find a chord in our heart. If you need a a ground for your good to operate in the West, consider this land yours: you can and build, develop your interests. We will always help you", the dictator assured.

"Remember, we are doomed to be together. It will be a long way if we break off our relationships. We will stay together anyway. The same is for Ukraine," Lukashenka. - We are Slavs and we should live together. And we will. Nobody needs us. Our history shows it".

At the meeting Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that Russia's support contributed to its own welfare.

He noted that sometimes Russia not only supported but even fed Belarus. However, he recalled that since the Soviet era, Belarus has been playing the role of a destination facility, a sort of an assembly shop, buying raw materials and spare parts from Russia. This support, if one exists, contributes to welfare of Belarus and Russia," Lukashenka said. - When determining the course of Belarus more than 20 years ago, we decided that Russia was not just a partner, not a friendly state," he said.

"We mainly buy in your resources and spare parts in all favorable and unfavorable situations," he stated.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka pointed out that Belarus was not only a well-known tractor plant and its products, but also petrochemical, oil refining and machine building industries. "This is the final production of a huge complex of the Russian economy. If Russia supports final production of Belarus, this means it supports those who produce raw materials and spare components," the dictator said.
